“When you study great teachers... you will learn much more from their caring and hard work than from their style.” - William Glasser
Me, Myself and I
My name is Miranda Rick. I was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, lived there until 1999 then I moved up the the Treasure Valley and have been here since. When my family and I moved to the treasure valley we moved to Nampa, Idaho. I then moved to Caldwell, Idaho with my husband and dogs.
When I lived down in Jerome, Idaho, I went to Immanuel Lutheran School from preschool to half of 3rd grade. Between moving from Jerome to Nampa we lived in Pocatello for about 6 months. That was the only experience I had with a Public Elementary school. When we moved up here I went to Zion Lutheran School now called Zion Christian School from half of 3rd to 8th grade. After going to a private Lutheran school I went to South Middle School after that I went and graduated from Skyview High School.
August 6, 2011 I was married to my best friend and soul mate. We live in Caldwell, Idaho with our crazy, energetic border collie mix named Midnight and our chocolate lab named Duke. In August 18,2017 I became a mom to an amazing, wonderful and wiggly boy named Chase. I love being a mom and wife, I couldn't imagine not being either.

Why Education?
I knew I always wanted to work with children. When I was in high school I had a part time job working in an After-school care program and loved my job. I loved helping the children with their homework, playing games with them and doing crafts with them. I just all round loved being their everyday to see the children. That is when I started to think about jobs I could do that involved working with children.
I have not always gone to school to be a Teacher. When I first started my college journey I was going for a Nursing Degree. I wanted to become a Neonatal or Pediatric Nurse. So I always knew I wanted to work with children or at least be around them. After getting about 2 years into my journey I looked at my degree major and decided to change to Elementary Education.
When I first started to think about the career I wanted to purse I thought about both nursing and teaching. While in high school I took a nursing course and loved it so decided to gown down that path. Yet I always thought about jumping paths and going to teacher and then I finally did. I started taking the education classes at CWI and loved the classes and knew this is where I belonged.
Now that I am in my student teaching I could not think about having any other job than a teacher. I could not see my self anywhere else than in a classroom surround by students ready and eager to learn what I have to teach them.
